„ACÉL A SZÍV!”
This was much needed!
After a tight first half, our academy's adult team secured a 32-19 victory against Kozármisleny with a good performance in the sports hall tonight.
Following the defeat against Vasas, our adult team aimed for improvement, or rather, for victory, as they faced the bottom-placed Kozármisleny in today's match at five o'clock in the afternoon.
There was nothing to complain about in the opening for our supporters, as Szalai, Trawczynska, Agócs, and Bouti scored, giving our team a 4-1 lead by the 9th minute despite receiving 2 suspensions very early in the game. However, we couldn't enjoy the lead for long, as a minor setback occurred, and the opponents punished us with goals, equalizing the score at 7-7. The second half of the first period also brought great struggle, and although there was still some stiffness in our team's play, we managed to maintain a one or two-goal lead, which the academy players held until halftime, leading 14-12, thus starting the second half with an advantage.
Just as with the first half, our team began the second one better, doubling their lead within seven minutes, showing a more precise performance both in attack and defense (18-14). The visitors managed to narrow the gap to three at one point, but ours responded with a 3-0 run, finally starting to pull away from their rivals (21-15). Although the Kozármisleny players tried, the improving home defense and Wéninger at the goal made it increasingly difficult for them, while on the other side, Szalai and her teammates attacked with growing confidence. They dominated their opponents from the middle of the half onwards, securing a very comfortable 32-19 victory at home, thus holding on to the crucial two championship points.
