Viktória Oguntoye suffered a bad injury
The excellent goalie of our team suffered a serious injury during the match against Alba Fehérvár. This week already she is having a surgery, now it seems she will be out for at least half a year.
Our team was glorious against the county rival, Alba Fehérvár KC, the girls fought till the end and managed to win by one goal, 27-26. But the mood was not the best after the match as still in the first half, our goalkeeper, Viktória Oguntoye, who is also part of the national team's squad remained on the floor after clashing with the opponent's French international player, Claudine Mendy within the penalty area. Breathtaking minutes came as she quickly received a treatment. At this time it was already known that she will not be able to continue this night. After the team got home, a quick examination foreshadowed what we were afraid of, that her knee ligaments have been damaged.
Not long ago she received the results of her MRI diagnosis in the capital city, which unfortunately confirmed the provisional assumption, therefore Ogu will not be able to play in this season anymore. After the examination we could reach her, of course she was truly let down by learning the news about the injury:
" I am really sorrowful, so far I have not had any serious injury which would cause to be out for such a long time. This week I am having my surgery done, according to the physician the recovery will take at least for 6 months, that's just too bad. Now I cannot do anything, what happened is happened. If the surgery goes well then from that time on it will be my responsibility to make the rehabilitation conscientiously and return to the court as soon as I can." - said our talented keeper.
