„ACÉL A SZÍV!”
Preparation for the new season has started
Luca Dombi signed for Dunaújváros, Kitti Kudor has however left the team. These changes and some more interesting hot topics were discussed today in the season opening ceremony of DKKA.
Today precisely at 10 a.m our adult team of DKKA has started the pre-season. After the first common training the team was invited for the first press-conference of the season 2017/2018 where we could learn some important, fresh news from the management.
In the Campus restaurant first István Szemenyei, executive director of our team greeted the guests, staff members, new and old members of our squad, and last but not least Gábor Cserna, mayor of Dunaújváros. He congratulated to Fruzsina Dávid-Azari, winger of DKKA who has given birth to her child last week. Mr. Szemenyei then continued with the enhancement of the recently achieved nice results by our youth; the beach handball team of Rudas finished second in the National Competition of Students. Still beach handball, the U17 national team with Csenge Braun in its squad won the World Championship. Meanwhile our teams of U13 and U11 took part in a competition in Slovenia recently and they got home with one gold and one silver medals.
The new players of our adult squad were introduced as well; beside the players who have already been revealed, Anita Kazai, Fruzsina Bouti, Katarina Tomasevic, Luca Szekerczés, Orsolya Monori, we learnt that the Hungarian international, Luca Dombi also joins DKKA from Mosonmagyaróvár. Unfortunately at the same time playmaker, Kitti Kudor leaves Dunaújváros. New youth coaches have also arrived, Adrienn Kovács and Árpád Takács will train teams here in Dunaújváros, while Tibor Zámbó will work in Mezőszilas with an offsite team in the new season, which could help the integration of the region to our Academy.
László György, head coach of the adult team shared the draft programme of the girls in the upcoming eight weeks. Nearly 60 training sessions, 15 preparatory matches are scheduled which in the first place aim the integration of the newcomers into the team, so that in September the girls shall be ready for the challenges that the league and the international competition will bring with themselves.
The most exciting part of the press conference was when István Szemenyei informed us about some technical information as well. The TAO support of our Academy has been approved therefore in the season 2017/2018 240 million HUF will be granted to DKKA, and 42 million is retention is necessary to call the TAO support in. This guarantees the youth training in all the age groups. The season passes go on sale just at the end of August thanks to the great news that the approval of the arena is drawing near. The management does not want to start to sell the passes until it will not be sure where will be able to play our home matches and when we shall seek for a temporary place for our home matches. According to the management everything will turn out in the coming month. DKKA will join the EHF Cup in the second round of the tournament in the middle of October, and is now waiting for opponent. They will hold the draw tomorrow. Also so far it is unclear where our team will be able to play the home games of this competition.
It was revealed that on 27th August for the age group U14-U16 there will be a charity tournament organized as a tribute to Nikolett Horváth, young player of DKKA who passed away tragically last year. The gained income of the tournament will be donated to Nikolett’s family.
No certain targets were set today by the management for the season 2017/2018. As Mr. Szemenyei explained, they would like to see the performances in the pre-season, how well the opponents have reinforced their squads, then we will be able to set a more exact goal; how will the team fare in the most competitive women’s handball league of the world.
