„ACÉL A SZÍV!”
Unaccommodating visitors we were
The hosts could not be entirely happy after the inauguration of their brand new arena.
Our team played in Siófok, in the recently unveiled Kiss Szilárd Arena at a quite unusual time in the evening starting from 20.15. An extremely tough contest was expected, it could be also considered one of the most important matches of the season for Kohász against the opponent. Besides that they are very close to us on the league table and several quality foreign players strengthen their squad, also the autumn match of the two sides was won by Siófok.
The match started overhasty for both teams, although the opening goal was scored by the home team, yet Kohász could manage to calm down a little earlier; first Luca Szekerczés, then Anita Kazai made it two in a row (1-4). The supporters needed to wait second one from SKC for 10 minutes, but it was followed by another goals from Camila Micijevic and Luca Dombi. In the 12th minute Lars Rasmussen, Danish coach of the locals needed to call a timeout, while 2-6 stood on the scoreboard.
The short break did not break our game, five minutes later the girls of László György already with five ahead. It did not seem that Siófok could come back to the game. Two missed 1-on-1 opportunities in attack annoyed the DKKA supporters, but then along came the girls' answer and they had a nice 4-0 run to prove their right (5-12). They could not lie back as Siófok started playing for fast breaks that worked efficiently. The first 30 minutes ended with the score 8-14.
Although having a decent advantage already, the girls needed to stay focused. They started the second half brilliantly, Luca Szekerczés scored and then the goalkeeper, Katarina Tomasevic (!) hit the net, who was having a great match in the goal as well (8-16). The match continued with one-one goals turn in both sides. Kohász's bad patch started around the 40th minute, when Siófok scored three in a row. This time the away coach called the girls to the sideline (13-19). Although Szekeczés hit her seventh one, the home team got closer and closer (15-20).
After five minutes without any successful attacks from DKKA, Klujber scored, and although the opponent led by Asma Elghaoui at this stage did well the time was running (17-23). In the last minute rush the team of Dunaújváros completely stopped in attack. Another 3-0 run by Siófok KC meant that in the 57th minute only three goals separated the sides. Szekerczés who played flawless before stood on the 7m line to shoot a penalty in a key moment that could decide the outcome of the match once and for all, but she missed. It turned out it did not change nothing as Siófok did their attacks hurriedly. Although Kohász did not play well in the final 15 minutes of the game, the nice performance in the other part of the match was enough for the win and they did a large step forward to finish top 4 in the current season as well.
