„ACÉL A SZÍV!”
We defended our title in Viborg
A flawless performance from the DKKA II. girls' U19 team at the Generation Handball tournament in Viborg.
Just like our adult team, our U19 girls were in Viborg during the past week. They were separated and DKKA entered with two teams to the Generation Handball international competition. The group stage started well for both our teams, the team nr. I. gathered four, while team nr. II. three victories, both of them finished on the top of their group. The second group stage did not go that much well for DKKA I. as beside two defeats and a draw, could beat only one opponent, so they did not manage to get into the final.
DKKA II. however remained unbeaten here, as the team of Ákos Vártok had four victories at this stage of the competition as well. This meant that they qualified themselves to the final where Rælingen HK awaited them from Norway, Interestingly our girls have already defeated them 18-11 during the first the group stage, we hoped they can do it again in the final too.
They began the match beautifully, got a 4 goal lead at early stage, but it was visible that the fatigue of eight matches during two and a half days had an effect on them (even though they just played 2x20 mintutes per match). The opponent got back to the game, they could equalize and before the final stage of the match they got the lead as well. This brought lots of excitement for the last few minutes. Luckily when it was really needed our girls found another range of speed and turned the game with a winning goal 4 seconds before the final whistle. They won the match 16-15, and after winning the title last year, this time they won again the competition of U19 girls. Congratulations for each member of the team and also for their coaches!
