A Close victory in the first game

The preparation period has officially ended for the adult team of our Academy and we travelled to Békéscsaba for the first match of the 2019/2020 season.

Neither of the halves started well for Kohász, after four minutes already 3-0 stood on the scoreboard. Triscsuk scored the first DKKA goal of the season and five minutes later we managed to equalize. (4-4). Still we played with many mistakes both in attack and defending, the home team got away by three goals once again. The timeout by György László did not seem to help either, two big opportunities were missed by our players even having an advantage after a 2 minute suspension (10-6). The end of the period went much better, first we equalized, then thanks to Kazai's goal - for the first time in the match - we got the lead right before halftime.

We needed to improve our play if we wanted to go home with points in the pocket. But the hosts started the second half with goals, we started it with two missed opportunities and a suspension. In the 37th minute they got the lead once again (17-16). Bouti and Szalai kept up the pace at this time, but Békéscsaba managed to score on the other side. (21-21). The opponent's attacks started to slow down, and our defending became tougher at the same time. Szekerczés, Sirián and Kazai hit the net, now we managed to get away by three. Due to another suspension the hosts came back to the game right away (23-24). Both team worked hard in attack with the only aim to score, we could not be sure about winning the game while being in the last two minutes of the game. After our the timeout, we played until the last pass, Kazai's ball found the way into the net, which meant that the new season started with a belligerent but nice victory for DKKA (27-29).
