„ACÉL A SZÍV!”
According to the odds
We could keep up the pace with ETO for a little more than 20 minutes, but mistakes in attack cost us the game, the CL title holder got a comfortable 11-goal-victory.
The champion and so far flawless Győri Audi ETO KC awaited us in an away game today afternoon. No need to mention that if you are playing against the current best team of the world, the odds might not be on your favour. György László asked his team to play a relieved game without any pressure, and he hoped that he will be able to see some game variations during the clash that were practiced before on the trainings.
No complaint about the start as although Triscsuk had to leave the court early after receiving a slap from Bódi, they got the lead thanks to Bouti and Szalai. Even though Szekerczés missed her 7m shot, 0-2 stayed on the scoreboard. Bulatovic could equalize with two strikes in the 6th minute. Both the goalies, Csapó and Leynaud started the game well, they showed nice saves one after the other Grosch put us forward, but Nze Minko with her big steps used her advantage well against our defence (5-5). As time went by, unfortunately our attack play started to lack effect and this was punished by Győr that got away by three goals. It immediately resulted a timeout. The short break seemed to help us, but we could not come closer than one goal to the title holder. The final minutes of the half went much better for ETO, they found another gauge and after some nice defending they also managed to score quickly. The score at halftime was: 14-10.
After turning the sides we got a bit of taste why Győr is considered as the current best team of the world. With quick counters, they managed to score after each mistake that were committed by the away team. In the 34th minute György László needed to invite his players to the sideline again (17-10). This time it did not help either, as another error and a missed penalty throw grinded the gears of DKKA supporters. When Szekerczés broke our goalless period in the 38th minute, the hosts were leading 19-11 already. The outcome of the match has been decided by this time. Our players could unfortunately show little against the well prepared green-white wall of defence. They had their mistakes as well, but Kohász could not use these advantages to their favour as the home team. The difference between the teams grew to ten in the middle of the half (24-14). It the last part of the game the distance of the two teams did not become bigger, Győr got a nice, and unfortunately easy win against DKKA today with a final score of 30-19 and remained undefeated in the league.
György László: - I am a little dissappointed as I expected more agressiveness from the girls. We got the job done in the first hal, but at that time already we had mistakes that are hard to explain. Győr prepared its defending well for today's game, and we could not produce much in attack today.
