„ACÉL A SZÍV!”
Kohász won the derby
It was an unpredictable match for very long, but at the end Kohász managed to get the upper hand against county rival, Alba FKC.
The adult team of our academy continued the K&H women's handball league with a county clash against Alba Fehérvár KC from five o'clock this afternoon. Attila Vágó's team did not have an easy task against the FKC that recently achieved several good results, but our goal was to keep the two points at home.
The first ten minutes of the clash brought the expected big fight, but at the same time it offered a very varied game, in which sometimes ours and sometimes the guests stood better with one hit. But none of the teams could get away from the other. In the 13th minute, the Fehérvár managed to get a two-goal-lead for the first time, so Attila Vágó had to call a timeout (6-8). After a short pause, the equalization quickly came together, and although Alba soon took the lead back, opponents coach, Krisztián Józsa also reacted to the comeback of the home team (9-9). The timeout seemed to help ours as after several errors from the visitors that were used well by Kohász, we took the lead. We could not be happy for a long time as at the end of the half FKC managed to use some errors committed by our players so this time Alba levelled the score with the goals of Triscsuk and Szarka, meaning there remained plenty of excitement for the second half as well (13-13).
After the turn, however, ours got a little stuck, and the guests relentlessly took advantage of this, so Attila Vágó quickly needed to come up with something while inviting his players to the sideline (14-17). Indeed he did find a solution as thanks to the hits of Barján and Bulath came back once again within just two minutes, but the game was still very unpredictable still in the middle of the second half (19-19).
DKKA tried to step away from his opponent with strikes from Szalai and Bulath, unfortunately in vain, because the guests were able to equalize almost right away (22-22). One-one hit on both sides, so it went all the way to 24-24, when Babovic was able to quickly save two shots. When Bulath scored her eleventh goal from a penalty the winning was very close, DKKA was leading 26-24 just a minute before the end of the match. The time-out of the opponents came immediately, but they failed to finish their last attack, then another Bulath goal finally decided the outcome of the clash. The game was won by Kohász 27-24, and with the two points we climbed up to the ninth position in the league table.
