„ACÉL A SZÍV!”
Amazing victory against Siófok KC
The adult team of our Academy playing extremely determinedly gained a fantastic eight goal(!) win with an excellent performance by our goalies.
The adult team of our academy continued the championship fights at home, they were hosting Siófok KC, which team was in the third place on the league table. The guests clearly had the odds, but ours prepared in a manner to suprise their opponent.
The beginning was quite frightening as the guests quickly gained a convenient lead with three hits in a tight two minutes (0-3). The away goal was broken by the hit of Bulath, who scored again after Ferenczy's accurate shot, so our team reduced its disadvantage to a minimum by the tenth minute (3-4). Siófok tried to restore the previous difference between the two guards with nice shots from the French international, Horacek, and although Szalai kept the pace with the Olympic silver medalist on the other side, a five-minute goalless period was relentlessly used by the Balaton-side club, the difference grew to three once again. Attila Vágó replaced the goalkeeper, while implementing 7 vs. 6 tactics, and thanks to the improving defense, Babovic's saves and more efficient strikes in attack, we came up with a 3-0 run with which the Girls managed to equalize. The score at the break was 12-12.
Anita Bulath was proven to be a great leader once again.
At the beginning of the second half, after the Szalai's strike, Kohász led for the first time, they also managed to quikly double their advantage with Bulath's fourth goal, but a little step back in attack was enough, and the guests first equalized, then took the advantage thanks to their Croatian international, Katarina Jezic (17-18).Kohász players were desperate to fight, they did not let Siófok to get away. They repeatedly chased their opponents into errors in front of their goal, while Szalai, Kazai and Bulath did not miss a hit, so former DKKA coach, Zdravko Zovko had to call a timeout in the 45th minute (20-18).
The short break and Aoustin's goal did not break our momentum either, Kohász based it on the nice saves of Petra Hlogyik, she mesmerised the guests in attack, while in front of the Siófok goal, our handball players were simply flawless. In the 52nd minute 24-19 stood on the scoreboard. There was another time-out from the guests, but that didn't help the team of SKC either, because Hlogyik built a wall in front of her goal, and did not let them to score. When another shot by Ferenczy and Bulath found their way to the net, the match was practically decided (26-19). The team of Siófok fell completely apart, they seemed very scattered in the final ten minutes of the game. Siófok performance is well characterized by the fact that the guests could not score a goal in the last quarter hour (!). Fro DKKA Barján closed the match with a hit with which Dunaújváros got a beautiful 27-19 win against one of the best teams in the league.
