After a tight first half, the adult team of our academy won 31-24 in the first leg of the League Cup quarterfinals.
DKKA travelled to Mosonmagyaróvár to play the first match in the League Cup that decides who will get to the best four teams of this contest. The clash was extremely important for both guards, as in the other duels NB I/B teams compete with each other, that means that the team which advances has a good chance to fight for the title.
Although the hosts scored two out of the first three goals of the match, the sequel was more likeable to the Kohász fans, because after the hits of Kazai, Ferenczy and Nick, the scoreboard showed a DKKA advantage (3-4). Our team still attacked more accurately than its rival, but despite getting away by two from the home team, the pupils of János Gyurka equalized quickly after (7-7). Mosonmagyaróvár made more and more mistakes in the middle of the half, and these were penalized by the Academists, who could be happy with an 11-8 advantage for the 24th minute. But the game changed a lot for the halftime, we fell back both attack and defense, and the home team came back with a 4-1 series, so the parties started the break with 12-12 on the scoreboard.
Ours looked sharper and more eager to win at the beginning of the second part, with a 3-0 run they let their hosts know that they came for two points. Of course, Mosonmagyaróvár did not give it up either, they reduced their disadvantage to a minimum by the 37th minute. The Dunaújváros girls had an answer the trio in the middle, Ferenczy, Bulath and Szalai led the red-whites at this stage (16-20). It seemed that the constant catching-up also took away the strength of the hosts, because between the 40th and 50th minutes the Kohász ran through their opponent, so they had to call a timeout at 19-27. The short pause broke our momentum, and Mosonmagyaróvár started to worry our supporters with another 3-0 rush, forcing Attila Vágó to use a timeout opportunity. The DKKA managed to arrange the lines for the final minutes, and luckily we could even increase our lead thanks to Bulath, Kazai and Ferenczy. With a great 31-24 success DKKA is in a good situation, as they have a nice advantage for the second leg of the clash that will be held in Dunaújváros on April 10.

2017. Nov. 19.Our photo crew has been trying to do their best to immortalize the best moments of DKKA's home games. This time they got a nice present for their persistent work, they could attend to the weekend match of men's handball team, Pick Szeged against the spanish record champion, Barcelona. Of course they needed to watch the game through the objective. The guests of Dunaújváros were nice guests at least they brought some luck, as the home team could defeat the Spaniards for the first time ever since 2008, and this means, they are still in a good position in the group 'A' of EHF Champions League.
