„ACÉL A SZÍV!”
Newcomer on board
With Kata Farkas joining our team our squad is getting extended with a young but well-rounded player.
A new left-back joins the adult team of DKKA. As it is well known, the Serbian handball player Ana Tomković, who was signed this summer, requested the termination of her contract before the start of the season, citing family reasons, which was accepted by our team. Since then, our management has tried its best to find a suitable replacement for this part of the team structure, and fortunately, they have now succeeded.
Our new signing, Kata Farkas, got acquainted with the basics of handball in Szeged, she picked up handball for the first time encouraged by her older sister, when she was just eight years old. Since then, she has been playing this great sport for fifteen years now, and although she still represents the younger age group, she previously played in the first division (NB I) for three consecutive seasons with Békéscsaba ENKSE and Ferencvárosi TC. Moreover, at the age of just eighteen, she was able to get a taste of the Champions League with the green and whites of the capital, as she was in the squad for several international matches. To our great joy, the young player didn't hesitate much, he said yes to the challenge awaiting her, and thus she arrives to Dunaújváros from the team of Levendula Hotel-Algyő currently playing in the secondary division (NB I/B.)
"I can tell you honestly, the invitation came unexpectedly. The management of the DKKA personally contacted my association in Algyő to ask for a transfer. Fortunately, the president did not put any obstacles in the way of the club change, for which I am thankful for him and for the team. Of course, like most handball players, it is also my goal to be able to play at the highest level possible, and besides this I am aware that opportunities like this don't come often in life, if they do, you always must seize them. I think my integration to the new environment is going well, the girls have accepted me quickly and I feel the coach's trust too, but at the same time I also know that I still have a lot to improve." - said our new player about the switch.
If everything goes well, Kata can make her debut in red and white in the match against Motherson Mosonmagyaróvár. On behalf of the team, we wish our new player many winning matches and continuous development.
