No success in attack

Our academy's adult team continued their row of matches in Kisvárda tonight from 6 pm. Before the meeting, only four points separated the two teams in the league table, so the match was very important for both sides, and the home team started it much better, as the scoreboard showed a 4-0 lead after just six minutes. Kazai broke the goalless period, but despite Farkas, Kazai, Nick and Krupják-Molnár scoring, the hosts kept their three-four-goal lead, and the first timeout of Dunaújváros could not be avoided in the 18th minute (10-6).

During the short pause, we managed to settle the score, because our team's performance improved significantly in attack and defence, and fortunately, this was also reflected in the result. The home team was unable to score, but on the other side Farkas and Poczetnyik managed to equalize with two-two goals, and despite Kisvárda's timeout request, Nick's hit gave DKKA the lead in the 23rd minute (10-11). But then came the next ups and downs, we remained scoreless for more than seven minutes, and although the home team scored "only" twice, it was enough for them to go into the half-time break with a 12-11 lead.

After switching sides the teams went neck and neck for a while, but after 15-15 the hosts scored twice in a row, and then DKKA missed another seven-meter throw. Kisvárda got away 19-16, Tamás Rapatyi had to call time-out again in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, the "resurrection" we saw in the first half did not come this time, the home team not just kept, but increased their lead, so in the 51st minute our coach invited theirs for one final time to the sideline (22-18). The final part of the gam, however, turned out a disaster, we scored only one goal in nine minutes, but got six in return, so the well-organized team of Kisvárda kept the points at home with their 28-19 victory.
