„ACÉL A SZÍV!”
Important victory at home
DKKA dedicates today's victory to the memory of Mihály Bába.
A very important sixty minutes awaited our academy's adult team this afternoon, as Érd visited the Dunaújváros Sports Hall, which team was just behind our team in the league table. The team of Tamás Rapatyi was clearly aiming for a win, but their opponent was also aiming for a bravo, so those who came to the match could expect an exciting battle.
The start turned out to be a bit better for the guests, as two of the first three goals were scored by the team from Érd, and the first time our handball players took the lead only in the middle of the ninth minute with a great goal by Kazai (4-3). The guests tried to keep up with our team, and although DKKA led by two in the middle of the period, after Johanna Farkas scored a successful penalty, it took only a minute and a half disconcentration, and the opponent could turn the game around with three goals in a row (7-8). Poczetnyik scored from distance, while Arany doubled from the wing, and despite Judit Simics' timeout, the scoreboard showed 11-8 in the 23rd minute. At the end of the half, the visitors managed to come back one goal during two home suspensions, but thanks to Farkas and Poczetnyik's further hits we could go to the break with a 14-11 lead.
After the half-time, our players could keep their momentum, with Farkas scoring from seven and Oguntoye from all over the court, and the home fans were already happy with a 16-11 lead. The visitors tried to score, but our team came out of the rush better, and by the end of the 40th minute Kohász led 19-13. Fortunately, the seemingly huge lead did not make our handball players comfortable, as they continued to attack with great efficiency, and by the middle of the half they had practically decided the fate of the points (26-16). Then came a small relapse in our team's play, and the guests scored four goals in a row, while our handball players did not find the net once in eight minutes (26-20). Johanna Farkas broke the long silence of the home team with her seventh goal, and although the last minutes were better for the guests, who came out to attack the whole court, the home team's victory was not threatened, so our handball players could deservedly dance for joy after the 30-26 victory, as our team had won two important points that could give a mental boost, too .
