„ACÉL A SZÍV!”
Vác took a bow in front of us as well
With great teamwork and excellent individual performances, the adult team of our academy won against Vác.
The adult team continued the league with a home clash against fifth-placed Vác this afternoon at 5pm. Before the match, we witnessed a festive moment, as our professional director Anita Bulath and our former legendary player Bernadett Ferling greeted István Pergel, who has trained countless talents for our city and who was awarded the Hungarian Handball Medal at the renewal general assembly of the Hungarian Handball Association on Friday.
After the small celebration, our handball players also had a great start, because although Vác scored the first goal, Arany quickly equalized, then Poczetnyik scored four goals in three minutes, so the visitors had to call an early timeout (5-2). Vác quickly settled down, first they reduced the deficit to a minimum, then during Nick's suspension they took the lead in the 11th minute (6-7).
As we gained full strength again, we took the lead back once more, but after that the visitors regained the upper hand, and during Krupják-Molnár's two-minute exclusion they managed to lead by two goals for the first time in the game. When they scored their 14th goal of the game, our head coach invitid his players to the sideline. After the short break, the team got its defending mechanism back together and Kazai, Poczetnyik and Farkas scored to tie the game at 16-16 for the break.
After the half-time change, the team from Vác scored the first goal again, and although our handball players answered with two goals, they could not score more than that, and after 19-19 the opponent got away by two goals again (19-21). The Rapatyi-team did not give it up, but even though they equalized, the guests always found the way to take back the lead, and in the middle of the period they were two goals closer to the victory (24-26). As the final stage of the game approached, Farkas and Poczetnyik managed to equalise again with accurate shots, so that even in the 52nd minute it was not clear who could be happier about the outcome at the end (28-28). In the 54th minute, a minor incident interrupted the match, because the hall was soaked by the heavy rain, so cleaning up in front of the opponents six meter line was necessary a good five minutes before final whistle.
Fortunately, this did not disturb the sides, until 30-30, our team had to equalize, and after Oguntoye made a great save, Poczetnyik scored his eighth goal to give our team the lead when it was really needed (31-30). Vác immediately equalized, but after Farkas and Poczetnyik's ninth goal, Kohász went ahead by two. Oguntoye prevented another easy goal, so the game seemed to be decided with 40 seconds left on the clock (33-31). Poczetnyik finished the last attack and Oguntoye grabbed another seven-meter throw, so DKKA won 34-31 against Vác, keeping the two important points and confirming their eighth place in the league table.
