„ACÉL A SZÍV!”
No surprise in Népliget
Our handball players put up a good fight even with players missing from the squad, but the capital side kept the championship points at home with a seven-goal win.
The academy's adult team continued their league campaign with a match against Ferencváros in the capital today at 2 pm. The Greens were the clear favourites, but our players were confident that with a disciplined game they could play a good match against one of the best teams in Europe.
The hosts, of course, started the game hoping to win, with two quick goals, and although Horváth quickly doubled at the other end, we could not find a counter to the capital's attacks in the first ten minutes, and by the 12th minute Fradi were leading 6-3. We could be happy about the goals of Krupják-Molnár and Horváth, but the home team continued to play more accurately, and even though we managed get closer, when Cvijic and Stolle both scored through Bartulovic, Tamás Rapatyi had to call a time-out (11-7). Unfortunately, the short break did not break the momentum of the Green and Whites, and in the 23rd minute Ferencváros went up by six (14-8), and they could maintain their lead until the break (16-11).
After switching sides, our team managed to keep the game relatively close for five minutes, coming back to four goals several times through Matucza, Horváth and Kazai, but after 22-18 Klujber scored three goals in a row, so in the 44th minute the scoreboard showed a 25-18 home lead. The seven-eight goal difference between the two teams did not change much in the rest of the game, and although Krupják-Molnár, Farkas and Horváth also scored nice goals for the team, FTC confidently held on to their lead and eventually kept the championship points at home with a 31-24 victory.
In today's game, 2005-born goalkeeper Dorina Bartók made her NB I debut, coming on for the final minutes she saved 3 of 4 shots as neither Dragana Cvijic, Andrea Lekic nor Anna Kukely able to outwit the young goalie. DKKA will close the season with two home games, against Kisvárda on 20 May and against Debrecen on 27 May.
