„ACÉL A SZÍV!”
A painful defeat
No chance to be victorious; in the first half our handball players struggled with attack and in the second half with defence at NEKA's home
Our academy's adult team continued their league campaign with an away match against NEKA this afternoon at 4 pm. The youngsters from Balatonboglár surprised our handball players twice last season, and the home team would have liked to avoid that this time, but their start was not good, as the home team scored the first two goals of the game. Paróczy and Trawczynska answered, and in the 7th minute the scoreboard showed 3-3, but in the next ten minutes our handball players made a lot of mistakes, especially in attack, and NEKA punished them with three goals in a row (6-3). In the 19th minute the scoreless period was finally broken, but our academy players could not pull themselves together, as in the remaining ten minutes of the half there were still a lot of bad shots and technical mistakes, so that by the break our team was only on six goals (10-6).
After the half-time change, our handball players had to improve their attacking efficiency in order to get back into the game. Tamás Rapatyi's team came back to the court with the same spirit, but despite doubling their number of hits in just over seven minutes, this time the quality of the defence fell back in the big rush, so the home team held on to their three to four goal lead (16-12). Krupják-Molnár and Anna Horváth managed to come back to two in the 44th minute, but the mistakes in the attack came again and by the 52nd minute the hosts were leading 22-17. In the end of the game, despite our team's best efforts, precision and concentration were lacking and there was no chance to catch up. The home team was leading by seven just before the break, and although they managed to improve the result in the final minutes, NEKA finally beat the academy team 26-21.
