„ACÉL A SZÍV!”
"Moving" and defeat
After unforseen events, Mosonmagyaróvár comfortably got the points in today's meeting.
It was not an easy task for our adult team today, not only because the current league leader, the surprise team of the season, was waiting for us in the championship, but also because not quite 8 hours before the start of the match it became certain that our hall, which was about to be renovated, was again soaked due to heavy rain, so even though our team would have played a home match again after a long time, unfortunately the playing court was unsuitable for the match. We would like to thank the people of Mosonmagyaróvár for their quick reaction and for allowing us to play the match in their arena.
Of course, this also meant that our team had to make a rather long, unexpected journey; over two hundred and twenty kilometers.
The match was a fast-paced game, the teams were neck and neck until 3-3, but the overall excellent Óvár pulled away with a 3-0 and then a 4-0 run. Despite the "home" timeout, MKC continued to play more accurately and efficiently, and our team could not find a counter against Zsófi Szemerey, who was stopping the shots one after the other. In the 25th minute, the opponent was attacking for a ten-goal lead when Nikolett Tóth collided with the defending Petra Gajdos, and as a result she was unlucky to catch the ground, which stopped the game, and the player had to be carried off on a stretcher. We wish her a speedy recovery. The incident clearly created a confusing atmosphere for several minutes, the gap did not widen in the last ten minutes, leaving the scoreboard at 11-20 at half-time.
The second half didn't start as planned for our team, Mosonmagyaróvár stepped up the pace and decided the outcome of the game within five minutes (13-25), our team managed to close the gap during the opponent's two-minute penalty, but they couldn't reduce the difference below ten goals. From the 40th minute to the 47th minute János Gyurka's team hit our net seven times, while for our team nothing was actually working in this period, Zsófi Szemerey continued to guard the opponent's goal in an inspired form (17-33). In the final phase of the game the girls got their play together, especially in defence, and we could see some really nice solutions in attack, too. Unfortunately, the goal difference did not change significantly until the end, Mosonmagyaróvár got the two points according to the chances.
Our team will play their next match on November 1st, when we will play Praktiker-Vác. Due to the renovation of the Városi Sportcsarnok, our team will move to Budaörs for this one game in the hope that after the renovation is finished in 2024, we will be able to play all our home games in Dunaújváros.
