Budaörs turned the game

2024. Jan. 20.
  • Facebook

Our team was leading for most of the match at the home of Budaörs, but the hosts were more efficient in the final stage of the game and they got a 28-26 victory.

Our first team played an away match against table rival Moyra-Budaörs Handball today.

The players tried to prepare well for the match. The home side scored first, but our team took the lead with three goals (1-3). In the continuation Budaörs could equalize several times, but Dániel Buday's team had to keep catching up with ours (5-6). After Szalai's goal DKKA led by two again, and although the hosts turned the game around by scoring three goals in a row, Agócs' double, Borgyos' and Kopecz's goals helped our team to regain the one-goal advantage (10-11). Towards the end of the half, Bouti and Oguntoye (!) scored important goals, but the home team did not want to be left behind, so the second half promised plenty of excitement, and the academy team started the second half with a 15-13 lead.

Although we were the ones hitting the net first after the half-time, we could not enjoy out three-goal lead for long, because the hosts equalised for the 38th minute, and at 18-18 everything could start over again. Our handball players took the lead back through Borgyos in a double-player disadvantage, and then they kept their minimal lead until the 48th minute, when Budaörs managed to turn the game around (22-21) with goals from Debreczeni-Klivinyi and Szekerczés. From then on, unfortunately, our team had to chase after their opponents, and although Kohász managed to equalise several times, as the score was 24-24 even after playing with one less player for four minutes, the home team escaped with a 3-0 run (27-24). Kopecz broke our team's scoring drought, unfortunately, our team could not catch up during the final minutes, so Budaörs could be happy with the 28-26 victory and with the fact that they overtook our handball players in the league table.

Moyra-Budaörs Handball – DKKA 28-26 (13-15)

DKKA's goalscorers: Agócs 7, Kopecz 4, Trawczynska 4, Szalai 2, Sallai 2, Borgyos 2, Horváth 1, Paróczy 1, Bouti 1, Nick 1.
