No surprises against Ferencváros

In a meeting adorned with beautiful individual moves and post hits, FTC eventually emerged victorious by winning both halves with six goals each.

Our academy's senior team continued their championship battles with a home clash against Ferencváros, who remained undefeated this season, on Wednesday evening at five o'clock. Although the guests were considered favorites for the match, there was still significance for our team in the confrontation. The coaching staff aimed to refine those elements of the game that could help our team gather points in truly important matches.

Fradi approached the encounter with hopes of a certain victory, and this was evident in their performance. Out of the first five goals, four were scored by the green&whites, and as our team's game didn't improve in the subsequent minutes, a timeout was called as early as the 10th minute (2-7). After the break, the game became significantly more balanced, with both teams scoring alternately, maintaining a five to six-goal difference between the two sides (8-14). Towards the end of the first half, our team managed to narrow the gap to four goals twice, but in the final minutes, Fradi was more accurate, leading to a 13-19 scoreline at the start of the second half.

Following the change of ends, the league leaders started stronger, extending their lead to nine goals after seven minutes (16-25). Despite the considerable deficit, our handball players fought with honor, earning applause from the supporters several times. However, the Budapest team only allowed DKKA to come closer momentarily. Moreover, Fradi won the final seven minutes of the encounter by five goals, ultimately strengthening their position at the top of the table with a 35-23 victory, while our team remained in the ninth position.

Luckily Anna Horváth returned to the squad after her injury, while our new player on loan, Fanni Török debuted with two goals.
