Decisions of MKSZ
Below you will find a summary about the sanctions of the Hungarian Handball Association that they made related to the corona virus situation. It concerns adult and youth matches and tournaments as well.
All sanctions are valid from 12th March, 2020 until revocation. They have been enforced in order to ensure the safety of all members of Hungarian handball sport and of the supporters.
- The Hungarian Handball Association (MKSZ) after negotiating with the International Handball Federation (IHF) announced that the Olympic Qualification Tournament that takes place between 20th and 22nd March in Győr, must be held behind closed doors.
- The European Handbal Federation (EHF) postponed the European Championship Qualifiers that would be organized between 25th and 29th March. It concerns the Hungary vs. Montenegro and Montenegro vs. Hungary clashes as well. According to EHF they try to re-schedule the matches for the beginning of June.
- The matches of the Hungarian junior, youth and teener national teams have been cancelled until further notification.
- Based on the decision of MKSZ all tournaments of the U8, U9, U10, U11, U12, U13 age groups are cancelled until the withdrawal of this decision.
- The U14, U15, teener, youth and adult tournaments, leagues, also the matches in the Hungarian Cup and League Cup shall be played behind closed doors.A zárt kapus rendezés pontos szabályairól a Magyar Kézilabda Szövetség a mai napon (2020. március 12.) írásban tájékoztatja a sportszervezeteket.
- All other youth tournaments including the 'Sulikézi Fesztivál' will be cancelled.
As MKSZ is continously negotiates with the responsible state organizations and witht the Government, further decisions might come in the coming days.
All offices of MKSZ and enterprises related to the Association will be closed, personal consultation is suspended. The members of the offices will answer to all questions via e-mail. They are working on a stable online platform through which most of the matters can be arranged.
About all changes the MKSZ will inform the teams and the public on their official pages.
