„ACÉL A SZÍV!”
The goal was close, but then...
[Teener I.]
Our youngsters had a realistic chance of making it to the final four of the teener I. league.
They stayed both in the teener I. and yourh II. leagues in third place, when the Hungarian Handball Association decided to end the season. As coach, Rita Meggyes revealed, she can look back on the struggles of the season with some frustration but overall satisfaction.
"We started the 2019/20 season with overall 20 players. The Teener championship was the most important series for us. During the year, due to injuries and departures, we were a little scared if we could even finish the leagues. We only had one goalkeeper available for a whille, but then Diána Shuck from Tolna joined us during the year. It was typical for the whole season that due to injuries and illnesses we could not work with full force, these aggravated our situation very much, but the attitude of the children and parents helped the team. We were third behind NEKA and Győr when this short season ended due to the virus situation. but with the possible win against Győr, we could have even reached the final of four. In the first third of the tournament, it was already outlined in me to aim for the final four and we worked for it all year round, and since we managed to beat both teams from Győr in the autumn season, this goal of ours seemed to be realistic."

"Many of our players performed beyond their strength throughout the year, but it is safe to say that overall the whole team improved a lot. In the attack, Noémi Kecskés led the list of top scorers in the championship, but Sztanó Kincső, Lara Varjas, Vivien Aranyi and Tamara Graffy were also very impressive, while Hanna Kósa remained alone in the goalkeeper position for a very long time, but got the job done. I am very sorry that the decisive match against Győr did not take place anymore so we could not fight for our dream. In our other league, Youth II., we were also in third place among older players, we had the opportunity to play very challenging matches, from which we could learn a lot. In this league, three 2003 born girls also could join the team and contributed to our success with their routine and good performance. Eliza Keresztes and Diána Kocsi played well, while Dóra Reszegi helped the team at the goal" - evaluated the coach, Rita Meggyes the performance of her youngsters.
