MKSZ decided to end youth contests
The Professional and Competition Committee of the Hungarian Handball Association (MKSZ) declared to end all the youth series of competitions for the season 2020-2021. They are however giving the opportunity to teams to organize tournaments for the period between 22nd May and 30th June 30.
According to the decision, no rankings will be determined, there will be no relegations and promotions in the youth leagues, and he will no teams will be automatically eligible for the 2021-2022 season in the I-II tier of the leagues. About the 1st and 2nd league participants of the upcoming season an ad hoc Classification Committee commissioned by the Professional and Competition Committee will decide.
In the annual competition calendar, The Professional and Competition Committee designates a tournament planning period between 22nd May and 30th June 2021, the details of which will be published in a later decision.
- Due to the forced suspension of the tournaments, a lot of matches were not held, many teams could not train, so the immediate restart of the tournaments would not be professionally justified and the required number of matches could not be played until the end of the season, several teams could not be able to play - said István Rupp, the competition director of the Hungarian Handball Association about the background of the decision. - However, many teams want to train and then play, so we provide them with the opportunity to compete through tournaments, and the detailed regulations of these will soon be published by the MKSZ Professional and Competition Committee.
