„ACÉL A SZÍV!”
Dominant Debrecen
For a little over a quarter of an hour, our academy's adult team managed to make it difficult for Debrecen in today's championship match at the Dunaújváros Sports Hall.
Playing at home, DKKA's women's handball team faced the third-placed DVSC on Wednesday afternoon at five o'clock, and although the guests were the favorites, our team hoped to play a close, good match against their opponents. Kohász started the match well, leading 3-0 and then 4-1 with goals from Paróczy and Arany. After a weaker start, Loki also woke up, with Planéta and Haggerty starting the comeback, equalizing at 5-5. At this point, our team regained the lead with Paróczy's fourth goal, but after another 0-3 streak, the home coaching staff had to call a timeout in the 14th minute (6-8). After a quick goal from Sallai, however, the continuation went very poorly because Loki won the next eight minutes 7-0, so by the 23rd minute, we could be sad about the 7-15 score. Lakatos broke the long home goal drought, followed by a goal from Horváth, but the guests maintained their confident lead, so they could go into halftime much more satisfied (12-18).
At the beginning of the second half, we managed to reduce the gap to five goals twice, but Debrecen's defense and attack continued to work much more effectively, increasing the difference between the two teams again. Therefore, another timeout was called for the home team in the 41st minute (16-28). During the short break, our team managed to pull themselves together somewhat, coming under ten twice in the remaining time, but Loki managed the final minutes better again, taking the points from the sports hall with a 38-28 victory.
