„ACÉL A SZÍV!”
Very close to a brilliant result
It was a serious clash until the end, but one of the world's best team, Győr managed to get the two points at the end.
The adult team of our academy had another home match in the league. We hosted the title holder of EHF Champions League and the Hungarian League, Győri Audi ETO KC in the Arena today. The odds were on the favour of the visitors, and although László György, head coach of DKKA knew this, he prepared well the girls concerning the tactics and playing style of the opponent.
One of the biggest questions before the match was wether Camila Micijevic, left back of DKKA could be part of the squad for today, as she still has not recover from her ankle injury, but thanks to the medical staff she was ready to play. She thanked the opportunity by scoring the first goal of the match. Győr did not seem to get confused, they had the answer for the goals of Kohász and after two unsuccesful attacks they already got the lead as well (2-3).
Dombi scored her second one for the home team, but another unfinished attacks resulted that the opponent was leading by two goals after 9 minutes. The home team did not seem to give up; after the 2 min suspension of Yvette Broch, Kohász managed to score three in a row by Klujber, Tomasevic (!) and Monori and they were one up again. Tides were however turning as Győr could attack 6 against 5 after a home suspension and they made a 3-0 run too. László György called his first timeout while the result was 8-9. The game did not continue well for the home team after the pause and some immediate fastbreaks of Győr resulted a three goal lead for the opponent. (8-11) after 20 mins. While the home team was struggling with the finishes, Katarina Tomasevic was unstoppable at the goal and thanks the her saves Kohász managed to declince the difference between the teams (11-12) but they could not manage to get the most out of the last few minutes the half time ended with the score 11-14.
After the break the home team had a nice start, Micijevic and Klujber took Kohász closer. But once again Győr had a decent answer in a form of a 2-0 run. Kohász was running after its opponent, but thanks to the efforts in the 41st minute with the goal of Klujber DKKA could equalize and with the goal of Beatrix Molnár they got the lead (19-18). This was followed by a timeout from the away team, but Kohász played brilliantly at this stage and Micijevic hit the net once again resulting a two-goal lead for Kohász. We knew that Győr is not the team that would give up, aftes some mistakes they immediately were neck to neck with us (22-22).
In the 48th minute a sad atmosphere settled on the crowd as Orsolya Monori, left back of out team seemed to get seriously injured as she stayed down on the court after a knock with Eduarda Amorim. This incident did not help with the morale, the visitors got back the lead. The pupils of László Győrgy fought well, they could finish their attacks well and thanks to a steal of Micijevic, Klujber scored which put Kohász forward once again.(26-25). Very exciting last minutes awaited the crowd, but Győr did not want to lose points, after the saves of Kiss, on the other side Groot, Knedlikova and Groot showed their talents. Oguntoye who replaced Tomasevic in front of the net could save an important 7m penalty, but unfortunately Luca Szekerczés missed one too, this meant that finally ETO gathered all the two points in a strained clash. Our girls showed an excellent performance which could mean important points for us in the upcoming matches of the competition.
