„ACÉL A SZÍV!”
No chance against Ferencváros
A weak start in the first half decided the outcome of the match. The visitors won by ten goals, the final score is 25-35.
We hosted the league leader Ferencváros who aim to win the league this season. We hoped for a close game, but of course this would have required a decent game from each Kohász player.
We had a late start however. Jovanovic scored twice, then Lukács's shots found the net easily. László György immedieately called a timeout after the 0-4 run. This did not seem to help as Jovanovic beat our defense once again and it seemed it could be a huge defeat at the end (0-6). The goalless period was broken by Luca Dombi in the 7th minute and although Oguntoye saved three shots, only Micijevic could score in the next 5 minutes yet Fradi managed to score two even one man down (2-8). The second part of the half was not better either as in attack we failed to break through. In the 22th minute FTC lead by 10 goals already (5-15). It is safe to say that we produced our worst half in the season so far; 8-19 at halfway.
A huge improvement would have been necessary for the second 30-minute, even to avoiding a large defeat. The break helped the girls, a mentally stronger team started the second half. The Kohász girls scored 7 goals in 5 minutes, and they only conceded one. Gábor Elek needed to invite his players aside (13-20). Fradi managed to get themselves together and although Micijevc and Szalai found the net, Pena and van der Heijden scored important goals for the visitors and the difference grew to 9 again (16-25). Our players missed several opportunities in attack and Fradi increased their lead again, in the 53th min the score was 19-30. During the rest of the match no emphasize was put on defending by neither of the sides. Our girls seemed more precise in this stage, but it did not help to avoid the clear defeat.
