Two points from Kisvárda!
In a very close game DKKA got a one-goal victory against Kisvárda today!
The team needed to travel to the North-Eastern edge of the country, they had quite a long journey there to play an away match today from 18.00. The opponent collected just 3 less points than Kohász so far, and of course it was their intention to catch us in the last four rounds. Kisvárda has talented foreign players, they made it hard for many other teams at home.
Our girls seemed to understand how important this game is going to be, their defending was indeed strong in the beginning. Babett Szalai, captain of our team scored 2 in front. The home team could score their opening goal in the 5th minute, yet Kohász could not just keep the difference, but also increase the lead (3-6). Well-known player for the Kohász supporters, Krisztina Triscsuk stepped on the court as a sub for Kisvárda, and indeed she scored a nice goal, but yet again we had an answer as Anita Kazai and Vivien Grosch hit the net. The home side called a timeout (4-8). The short break helped them to strengthen their defending, until the 22nd minute our team still could keep their 3-4 goal lead. In the last 7-8 minutes Orbán, Khakunova and Dmitrovic could score as well t4o the goal of Tomasevic then a later the goal of Oguntoye. 30 seconds before the half only one goal divided the teams, but Katrin Klujber won a penalty which was successfully taken by Luca Szekerczés. The score was 11-13 at halfway.
The second period was started well again by players of Dunaújváros. Szekerczés and Micijevic scored. Triscsuk played well for Kisvárda at this stage of the game, but first Grosch was effective from the right wing, then later from a fast break too (12-17). Kisvárda tried to keep up the tempo, yet DKKA could keep the difference. In the 39th min the lead grew to 6 goals (15-21). Due to the suspension of Viktória Nick the hosts could get closer by two goals, and due to the other suspension of Micijevic, Bulath (and the coach László György), Kohász was forced to defend with just three players, which period was also won 2-0 by Kisvárda. The outcome of the match was again unpredictable (19-21). Before Micijevic got her second suspension, she scored her 7th goal in the match. Playing continuously with less players stopped our team and due to the penalty shoots of Triscsuk they were just one goal down (21-22). Our team got confused, as the 6 goal lead very quickly disappeared. Dmitrovic scored two goals for the hosts which meant that in the 57th minute they took the lead for the first time in the match (26-25). Babett Szalai broke our goalless period and scored an enormous goal. And thanks to two well-defended attacks we had the chance to take over the lead yet again. Luca Szekerczés had an opportunity from 7m-s again, and she kept her immaculate scoresheet. Kisvárda had the chance to equalize, but they failed to find a goal. This resulted a very important win for Dunaújvárosi Kohász and with this our girls still keep their 4th place on the league table.
