Second place finish in Kohász Cup
Kohász Cup finished for the home team with a competitive draw against Budaörs.
Due to the last minute resignings before the last match of Kohász Cup it was sure that Danish team Viborg won the first place of the three-team tournament. On the match between our academy and Budaörs, the aim was to get the second place.
Quickly we managed to get away from our opponent but soon they levelled the game. After 10 minutes 6-3 was on the scoreboard. The first bad period came after the timeout of the opponent, they could get closer to us (10-9). The third part went again better for Kohász, so at halftime we had a nice three-goal lead (17-14).
Usually we ace the beginning of the halves, this time it was the case as well, the goal difference seemed to grow, we thought at this stage that the match will have comfortable outcome for us (19-15). But yet again after the decent start our attack play became slower and more predictable, this resulted a goalless eight minutes for Kohász. Budaörs on the other hand used our technical errors, missed chances well and hit the net on the other side. Due to a 5-0 run Budaörs got the lead for the first time on the match (21-22). A home timeout seemed to help, we quickly turned the game once again, but unfortunately we could not keep it until the end, in the last minute Klujber's impressive strike was necessary to equalize.
This meant that Kohász got the second place on the tournament. Katarina Tomasevic was selected as the best goalkeeper of the tournament. Viborg HK player Stine Bodholt won the award for the best player, while her teammate, Ann Grete Nørgaard is the top scorer with 20 goals.
