„ACÉL A SZÍV!”
A close defeat from the tite holder
Although we did not get a point we managed to play a tough game against Győri Audi ETO KC tonight.
This was the third game within one week time for Kohász, and it is safe to say that at this stage of the league they already met the three strongest teams in the league. After the huge defeat from Ferencváros, the title holder of the Champions League, the Hungarian League and the Hungarian Cup, Győri Audi ETO KC travelled to Dunaújváros. The odds were of course not in our favor, but just like in the middle of the week, we wanted to make the game tough for the opponent.
We took a good start, Kohász tried to come up with a well-organized defense and slow, but precise attack options. And with success as they kept up with the pace thanks to the goals of Klujber and Ferenczy. Thanks to the saves from Csapó and a scored penalty of Szekerczés Kohász erased the two-goal-lead of Győr. In the 14th minute 5-5 was on the scoreboard. First Amorim, then Brattset scored, but Klujber and Ferenczy found the net on the other side. Kohász also had the chance to take the lead, but they spoiled two attacks in a row (7-8). György László called a timeout to calm the team. It helped as Kohász could use the mistakes of the Győr players and in the 23rd minute, after the strike of Ferenczy for the first time of the match they got the lead as well (10-9). We could not cheer for long as the girls could not get away from the opponent, they started committing several mistakes in attack towards the end of the half which was penalized by the best team of the world. After 11-11, Győr scored three in a row (11-14).
The question was how sharp DKKA could remain, as for example on Saturday against Ferencváros the large number of errors in the second half resulted our defeat. And yet again two technical errors for us, a goal for Győr, but Tomasevic, who came in the goal for the second half showed some great saves. Szekerczést two times, while Klujber on time managed to score against one of the best goalies in the world, Amandine Leynaud, at this stage only one goal separated the two sides (14-15). Kohász could stay close to ETO, after the goals of Dombi from the pivot position the whole crowd stood up in the arena. Unfortunately in the middle of the half Győr used well their advantages and at 16-20 György László called another timeout, it seemed again that the Kohász players got tired like it was the case four days ago. The visitors could keep their 4-5 goal lead thanks to Groot and Görbicz, but our girls fought well until the end of the game, did not give it up for a second. The home crowd appreciated the efforts. Although Győr won the game 28-24, a well-deserved applause greeted the Kohász players after the final whistle.
György László: - I am satisfied with the result, we fought much better than a few days ago. Unfortunately no points are given in the league for the effort, but this game was much better for us than the one against Ferencváros. We had some nice moments in attack, some plays were discussed during the training and I am glad that the girls could put them into practice. Congrats to the whole team for today's performance!
