„ACÉL A SZÍV!”
Nice victory in a close game
It was a tough match for the first team of our Academy, but at the end victory and two points are all that matters.
The season continued for us with an away match in Budaörs. The opponent got recently into the relegation zone, and it was obvious that they want to do everything to avoid going down at the end of the season. They got a nice start anyway; although DKKA scored first, the opponent stayed focused and got a 3-0 run at the beginning. After 8th minutes 5-2 stayed on the scoreboard, the home team played more straightforward at this period of the game. Several saves from Csapó and the scores of Ferenczy, Sirián and Kazai were necessary to catch Budaörs halfway through the first half. (6-6).
Tides were turning; this time the hosts started to make more mistakes, while DKKA could stay more focused and get advantage of the opponent's errors. Szekerczés hit the net two times and Grosch's balls found the way into the goal, the home coach needed to call a timeout in the 21st minute (8-11). From the home side Pálos-Bognár and ex-Kohász player, Hornyák tried to keep Budaörs close, but even with one player down we managed to increase our lead that we could keep until halftime. Our girls got into the dressing room with a four-goal advantage (13-17).
The second half started better for the home side, but the Kohász players had their comebacks, and after Szalai scored, the difference between the teams grew to five goals 14-19). The comfortable lead did not mean that we could decrease the intensity, it took just two unfinished attacks and a technical fault, and Budaörs was again a nuisance to us (18-20). The home coach changed the tactics in defending that started to work. Although Ferenczy scored, in our attacking play failed to work. At this stage Budaörs even had the chance to lead attacks to level the score.
Luckily they could not do it, and after the fourth goal from Sirián the supporters could get some air too, an exciting 10 minutes awaited us. Due to a tough fault from Nick, Kohász again had a two minute suspension, but Csapó Kyra showed some skills in the goal, while Szekerczés could score on the other side of the court (21-24). The hosts were all-in for the last minutes, but this caused several unnecessary errors, which then were used by the Kohász players. At the end we gained a five-goal victory, with a final score of 28-23.
