„ACÉL A SZÍV!”
Busy days at DKKA
Lots of announcements have been made in the new year already. In the following article we will try to sum up the news and changes concerning our team.
After Nick Viktória and Sirián Szederke extended their contracts at the end of last year, now Camila Micijevic, Csapó Kyra, Grosch Vivien, Kazai Anita, Molnár Beatrix, Szalai Babett and Szekerczés Luca decided that they want to continue at DKKA in the future. It turned out that head coach, György László will also remain in charge. This has been announced today by Nyakacska Zsolt, executive director of the team.
The players explained why they have decided to extend their contracts:
Camila Micijevic: - This was the best choice I could make, and although due to my injury I am out for most of the season, I truly hope I will come back even stronger. I know the players and the professional work at the team, I am positive about my future career here.
Csapó Kyra: - I have been informed by the management that they count on me in the future as well. I wanted to stay, as I am home here. I get along well with the others, I get the playing time I wish for and I hope that I can keep my place. It is nice to work with both Vártok Ákos, goalkeeper's coach and György László head coach and I am happy that the core of the team will stay together.
Grosch Vivien: - I grew up here I became a handball player here, everything is provided in Dunaújváros to improve more. What is important for me that the playing time is also granted. We are together with my teammate for this position. There is no conflict neither with her, nor with the others, so there was no question about my choice that I extend my contract.
Kazai Anita: - It did not take me long to make up my mind about the extension, as it is important for me that my teammates also decided to stay. We have good prospects for the future that shows stability. I am here for two years now, it is clear for me that we are capable of achieving great successes together. This unity could be our secret weapon in the future too that we know each other very well.
Molnár Beatrix: - This is my sixth year with the club, I consider myself as a DKKA academist as I got here during my youth career. I love the team and really like to be here. Everything is granted for me to get better and better on the court and luckily I am not only getting playing time as a winger, but as a playmaker too.
Szalai Babett: - I have been enjoying my time in Dunaújváros in the past four years as well, it was not a hard decision to sign my new contract. I will be honest, I had offers from other teams, it is heartwarming as this is a good feedback about my performance on the court, but my preference was to stay. So I decided pretty quickly that I will extend my contract for another two years at Kohász. Like 80% of the team will stay for the next season as well and I love working with them.
Szekerczés Luca: - A really important feedback was for me that most of the players will remain in Dunaújváros in the future as well, beside this of course I like to be here, I am playing in a team with a good chemistry, luckily I am playing a lot. What else could I wish for?
György László: - I think this team will be a strong one next season as well. A big thanks to the management of DKKA, especially that they still think I am the right man for the job. I will do my best to get good results in the league and to give players not only to the team, but to the city and to the Hungarian national team too. I am happy for the ones that are here with me extending their contracts and I cannot thank enough for their trust in my professional work.
Not only the extensions have been announced recently. This week the management of DKKA together with the owners gathered around to evaluate the changes that occurred in the club's life. According to them the Academy's finances have been stabilized, everything is provided to get back to the principles that have been appointed when DKKA was founded. Stability is key, the owner, the municipality of Dunaújváros is commited to do their best to get behind and back up the team. On the year closing event it was also announced that Mátéfi Eszter, former player and coach of Kohász will return to our club and will strengthen us as a Vice-director of professional matters in the future. She is currently working on strengthening the squad for the next season together with other members of the management.

There are also some good news concerning some of the young players of our Academy. Kohász's young handball player, Koronczai Petra managed to get into the Elite Programme of the Hungarian Handball Federation (MKSZ) that provides both her and the club with lots of benefits. This opportunity was established by MKSZ last September, and we are happy to see that a player from our academy has also been selected. For getting the beneficial monthly stipend the player is required to do extra tasks at the club in the first place, but common training camps are organized for all the participants of the programme in Budapest as well. The current aim for Petra is now to become a better player.

Another talented young academist of ours, Jovovic Jovana who was born in Vrbas, Serbia has made the oath of allegiance and she became a Hungarian citizen during the week.
