„ACÉL A SZÍV!”
A defeat beyond all understanding
We suffered a two goal defeat from Budaörs Handball.
We aimed to get two points against Budaörs that was in the 13th position on the league table, with just 6 points collected. Before the match new Freeman of our town, Jankó Árpád was greeted by the management of the team. At that time we did not expect that this was all the happiness for today.
We started the game really bad, although Csapó showed two big saves, the opponent was leading 4-1 in the seventh minute, György László called a timeout. The break did not help, still we showed a poor performance, even after 12 minutes only 2 goals stood next to our crest on the scoreboard. Kazai and Szekerczés brought us closer, but when it was about to turn the game, an error, a missed chance or a suspension came (7-10). As halftime drew near, it seemed we could even equalize and start a new game, but a missed chance, a bad defending and a strike from Pálos-Bognár in the final second meant that Budaörs had a nice three-goal lead after the first half.
We thought we saw the worst 30 minutes of the season, but hoped for a better second part. But the game continued as the first half ended, a missed chance and an away goal. They could keep their four-goal lead until the 41st minute (14-18). Szalai's individual actions and saves from Csapó helped to finally deliver a 3-0 run. But after the timeout of the opponent, again we seemed to struggle. This was thanked by Budaörs, they got away again thanks to Dávid-Azari (17-20). Big final minutes would have been necessary to turn the game. The academists managed to do it as five minutes before the final whistle finally we managed to equalize with the long strike from Szekerczés (23-23). As it was the case during the whole game, this time again as we came back to the game, we stopped, simply we could not get the upper hand this game. Poor performance in front of both goals resulted a poor defeat. Budaörs won the game with a final score of 26-24, it is their first victorious clash against us, Congratulations to them!
György László: - A well-deserved win from Budaörs. Bad start, bad continuation, we were hopelessly chasing the game. Poor performance, we are apologizing from our fans.
