We introduce our new player, Itana Čavlović
We asked our pivot how she feels about the first two weeks of the preparation in her new team.
- Please introduce yourself to the supporters and tell us a few words about your previous career as well!
- Hello! I am Itana from Montenegro, I am currently 21. I started practicing handball more than ten years ago. The club where I started playing and stayed until 19 was Buducnost Podgorica. After I left Montenegro I went to play in the Turkish league for two years. First in the club Zagnosspor, and last season in Izmir. As far as the national team is concerned, I was part of all the younger selections. Also received some call ups for the 'A' selection several times. Of course, I hope it will not change in the futute.
- What helped your decision that you choose to continue your career in Dunaújváros at DKKA?
- After I left Buducnost, the Turkish league seemed to me insufficiently professional for me and for my progress. Of course, during these two years I have gained a lot of experience and played a lot of games, but my wish was to find a club where all the focus is on handball and progress. I'm happy to see that this club is just DKKA.

- Two weeks have already passed, since you are preparing together with the others, what is your first impression?
- The beginning is always the most difficult of course. This is the period when we need to get to know each other and we adapt ourselves to the playing style of the team and to the teammates' way of thinking on the court. I am happy that I receive the necessary support from the girls. The preparations - as expected - are very difficult, but at the same time very professional. I am very happy because from the beginning it is seen that we are a good team.
- What do you think what are your real strenghts on the court?
- From the very beginning of training, I have learned that defense is the most important item in the game. I like to see that at DKKA we have the same mentality, and I can adapt myselft easily to the aggressive defense system, I think this suits me. But definitely my strength is fighting and courage. I am sure that my advancement will continue here while playing in such a good team. I hope we look forward to a successful season.
