„ACÉL A SZÍV!”
Fantastic win against the county rival!
Girls of DKKA did not give it up for a second, turned the game at the very end and this led to a beautiful victory.
After or away game against Győri ETO KC, this time we needed to travel just 40 km to reach Székesfehérvár, where we are always playing close clashes.
The hosts got a better start, their French players, Zazai, Mendy showed their skills quickly and they gained the lead (3-1). Triscsuk did not let them to get away, then Kazai and Grosch managed to score, yet Alba could keep their advantage. A few suspensions from the home side would give us a chance to turn the score, but today we simply could not get the upper hand even when we were one player up (6-4). The opportunities were there, but either a mistake, other times the opponent's third French international player, Attingre stopped us who had some brilliant saves in front of the goal. We succeeded to equalize in the 24th minute (10-10), but the end of the half went clearly better for Fehérvár and they got away by three. The girls went to the dressing room while 14-11 stayed on the scoreboard.
After switching sides, we needed to improve both in attack, but in defending as well. Mendy and Walfisch were unstoppable, they managed hit the net too often with strong strikes. But the game did not continue as we expected; thanks to a missed penalty, and nice saves from the opponent's goalkeeper Fehérvár was already leading by four goals (17-13). Almost ten minutes passed by when as the girls started to believe that the chance is still there to turn the game. Players of the hosts who were previously very effective from long shots, started to get tired. Triscsuk, Sirián and Szekerczés kept us in the game and finally DKKA could equalize in the 50th minute. Grosch put us forward, but FKC got another two goals in, while Attingre saved another 7 meter throw. The defending worked well at this stage, and even being one player down, Grosch then Szalai got the lead for us (21-22). Mendy was awarded a penalty, when only a minute was left on the clock. György László called a timeout and told what he expects about the last Kohász attack of the match. His strategy worked, as this time DKKA was awarded a penalty, that was scored by Szekerczés. In an extremely exciting game Dunaújváros defeated their county rival in Székesfehérvár with a final score of 22-23.
