„ACÉL A SZÍV!”
Painful elimination from the cup
The match ended with a draw, but according to the rules this is a good news for the away team.
We played in the 4th round of the Hungarian Cup against Alba FKC tonight. Our team and supporters were happy to see DKKA finally playing a match at home in Dunaújváros. The last clash between the teams ended with a one-goal Kohász victory in the league. .
We gained the lead very quickly and even though we missed several opportunities, 5-3 was on the scoreboard after 10 minutes A timeout helped the home team, they equalized and turned the game within the next 10 munutes (9-10). Mendy seemed unstoppable and scored goals one after the other. Alba kept their one goal lead for halftime (13-14).
It seemed that the break did not help us, as FKC added another two goals to their advantage. Triscsuk helped Kohász to get closer, but even though we managed to equalise, the defending did not work well and the opponent could score a goal barely from each attack (22-23). On the other side our attackers did everything they could, yet we could gain the lead. Since a draw would result the qualification of the opponent to the next round, the pressure become even higher (28-28). Fehérvár seemed to get tired and when Szekerczés scored a penalty we were winning (30-29).
Mendy equalised with a suspicious goal, which was followed by a missed chance from our girls. Even worse, that Bouti was sent off from the court for two minutes. We got the ball in an impossible situation and Grosch was running towards the goal of FKC, the referees saw an attacking fault right in the moment when her ball hit the net. The match therefore ended with a draw. With this Alba FKC qualified to the next round of the Hungarian Cup.
