„ACÉL A SZÍV!”
New prospects ahead!
A new group of managers assists the team of Dunaújvárosi Kohász Handball Academy, also the new coach of the first team has been appointed, Vágó Attila will be in charge from the next season on.
We held a press-conference with the working title "Mi lesz veled DKKA?" (What will happen to you DKKA?) this afternoon. From the owner, the local municipality Barta Endre, vice-mayor, from DKKA Mátyás Gábor, executive director, Gurics Attila, manager were present. Also Vágó Attila - as it turned out at the beginning of the event - future head coach of the first team joined the gentlemen.
Mr. Barta explained that they got in touch with the new group thanks to Mátyás Gábor, executive director, and this might contribute to the stabilization of DKKA's operation in the future. Beside Gurics Attila's crew, a potential new main sponsor appeared and working together with them could result that we won't simply have a team, but we will have a good team.

Mátyás Gábor confirmed the vice-mayor's words and expressed his hopes that the framework contract they sealed gives the possibility for DKKA to develop further. With Gurics Attila they know each other for a long time through wrestling and his name could guarantee a bright prospect for the future. Mr. Gurics' father is an honorable citizen of Dunaújváros, their family has a strong bond to sport. About the new manager crew behind the team it was explained that they took into consideration only professional indicators when selecting the right members. It contains names like Bodon György, sport economist, Fehér Tamás, who is a local-born (was the president of handball in Dunaújváros in the season 2011/12), also marketing and media experts, they will all be represented by Gurics Attila. They want to be partners of not just DKKA, but the city of Dunaújváros as well. It was announced that currently four players are in contract from the squad of the current season, Braun Laura Csenge, Kazai Anita, Mihály Petra and the captain of the first team, Szalai Babett. Negotiations are still in progress with further players from the actual squad about prolongation, but also with other players as well. According to the plans DKKA can announce their final squad for the 2020/21 season before the next home match within the framework of another press-conference.

Vágó Attila introduced himself as well, he will be in charge at first team from the summer on. He said it was an honour that the position was offered for him, he promised, that from the first moment on he will do his best to lead our team to success. The 34-year-old manager was personally recommended by our current head coach, György László for the job, but they asked the opinion of our professional director, Mátéfi Eszter and even of Mocsai Lajos as well. He has the highest licence possible in handball coaching, and is fully aware of the aspect of modern handball. According to him he not only sees key players on the edge of the way that heads to the national team here, but also bright talents. One shall not forget, that there is a long-standing and well-working academy system established that aims to train skillful youngsters for our first team and also for the Hungarian handball.
We also learned that the aim for the next season is to have a stable starting lineup in Dunaújváros that can count on the gifted academists as well. In regard to the new sports hall what we know now is that the decision will be made in approximately 40 days, there are three possible outcomes; the first scenario is that by receiving additional support a new arena and a new dormitory will be constructed. Plan 'B' is that without the availability of the extra founds the current facilities will undergo a renovation. The third version is that a new, smaller arena will be built. We are looking forward to the changes ahead of us.
