„ACÉL A SZÍV!”
A painful defeat
Although being ahead with four goals in the second half, after committing many mistakes we suffered a two goal defeat at the end.
In Balatonboglár, the home of the Boglár Academy-SZISE, the championship fights of our academy continued this afternoon. Attila Vágó's team traveled to the shores of Lake Balaton for two points, and although six months have passed since the hosts' last championship success, it was not an easy task for Kohász's handball players.
The first minutes of the match were started much better by the hosts, not even five minutes passed from the first half, the scoreboard already showed a 4-1. The Kohász's defense and offensive game also improved, so DKKA first equalized and then took the lead, but there were enough mistakes made in the next few attacks, and at 9-7 home advantage, our manager called a timeout. Our team switched to the seven vs. six tactics game after the break, but the hosts had an answer to every Dunaújváros hit (13-12). Our situation was aggravated by the fact that Fruzsina Ferenczy was injured in the 24th minute. Although we finally managed to equalize thanks to the goal of Petra Mihály, the Kohász also got two goals while being with one player up on the court, so the team of Balatonboglár took another step (15-13). Then luckily Kazai first brought ours closer, then Babovic scored a goal for an empty goal, so the parties marched into the locker rooms with 15-15 on the scoreboard.
So it was a difficult task for us in the second half as well, especially since Ferenczy Fruzsina could not return to the field unfortunately. While the first goal of the half was scored again by the opponent, Barján equalized first, then Babovic scored twice perfectly, so the 37th minute, Szilárd Kiss had to invite his players to the sideline (16-18). After Kazai's hit, Kohász led by four (17-21), whose defense also improved significantly compared to the first half. But one suspension and four spoiled attacks in Dunaújváros were enough, and the NEKA players were able to equalize with a 4-0 run (21 -21). In vain did Attila Vágó call the team's second timeout, DKKA made one mistake after another in the big rush, and the home team did not do the same favor, the game turned into the final 10 mintutes while the home team led 24-21. The long goalless period was broken by Gréta Horváth, then after Bulath's accurate shot the difference was just one goal once again. But after Johanna Farkas got her eighth hit, and this got us far from getting a point (27-25). Attila Vágó tried to calm his players before the end of the match, but now it didn't help either, the hosts kept their advantage, and in the end they won the two championship points with a 28-26 victory.
