„ACÉL A SZÍV!”
We won the second leg too!
DKKA won 32-27 against Mosonmagyaróvár, making it to the semifinals of the League Cup with a double success.
We hosted Motherson-Mosonmagyaróvári KC in the second leg of the League Cup quarterfinals today. In the first match the adult team of our Academy won 31-24.
The match did not start well for DKKA, as MKC quickly got away by two goals, yet after a few minutes our players managed to calm down a bit and they not just equalized, but got the lead as well. Between the 10th and the 20th minute the teams were neck and neck, sometimes ours lead by one goal, sometimes the opponent. Since we were in a seven goal advantage altogether that we gained in the first match, we did not hurry the game after all. After a while thanks to a penalty won by Krupják-Molnár Beatrix and a Kazai strike from pivot position we managed to get a two-goal-lead finally (13-11). The teams committed quite a few errors throughout the first half. Luckily the end of the second half did go better for Kohász, and the teams marched to the locker rooms while 16-12 stayed on the scoreboard.
We had a jump start at the beginning of the second half and our lead was increased to 6 goals 20-14. Although MKC had an answer to our attack, thanks to Szalai we kept the difference between our teams, while Barbora Lancz tried to catch up with our scorers on the other side. Anita Kazai also had a nice game with her ninth goal, altogether the 24th DKKA hit the difference grew to 7 for the first time. We sit back a bit and after two MKC goals in a row Attila Vágó called a timeout (24-19). Gréta Horváth broke our goalless period, but then Mosonmagyaróvár could come closer once again by a 3-0 rush. The strikes came from both sides at this stage the game was balanced. MKC received two two-minute-suspensions that gave us a chance to increase our lead. Attila Vágó gave playing time to our youngsters as well, while Petra Hlogyik showed some nice saves at the goal. With a Dorina Román penalty overtime at the end we gained a nice 32-27 win.
It was a nice game for us, that helped to overcome the grief that we feel after the loss of our masseu, Mihály Bába. With this victory we got into the best four teams of the League Cup, where the team of Vasas awaits us.
Attila Vágó: – We knew that we gained a comfortable lead on the first match, and we were avare that the opponents chance is to go all in. We prepared for the fast breaks and got into the game like the score was level, we wanted to win this one as well. Congrats for the girls for making it done, they fought brilliantly!
