„ACÉL A SZÍV!”
Nice win in front of visitors
Thanks to the good performance in the second half DKKA won against Kisvárda.
After a long time, the adult team of our academy was finally able to start playing in front of spectators on the home field, which hosted the Kisvárda today, which was just ahead of us on the league table.
Although our goal was of course to get the victory, the match started a bit scary, because in the first five minutes the supporters from Dunaújváros could see only three hits from the away team and although in the 6th minute Nick broke the home goal silence, Attila Vágó had to call a timeout after a tight ten minutes, because the defense of the guests was really tough (2-5).
To make matters worse, Bulath Anita’s face was injured quickly after due to a hand swinging after a shot, so our team had to say goodbye to one of their best players for a while. However, after the short break, our defense and offensive play also improved somewhat, so the difference between the two teams did not increase, in the 20th minute the Kohász could attack for equalization. The opportunity was missed unfortunately, and although it was penalized by the opponent, after the hits of Dabevska and Ferenczy, the coach of KKC had to invite his pupils to the sideline (10-11). We had to wait for the equalizer until the end of the 26th minute and it did not change until halftime, the teams went to rest with a score of 13-13.
At the beginning of the second stage, Bulath, who returned after her injury, and with her strike, Kohász finally managed to take the lead, then Gréta Horváth also hit the net twice, and when Ferenczy also beat the well-defending goalkeeper, Bettina Pásztor, Botond Bakó called another timeout fro Kisvárda (17-14). This did not help the guests much, because Kohász played more accurately than their opponent, so they not only kept their advantagem, but also increased it. Another goals from Szalai and Ferenczy resulted that in the 47th minute 22-17 stayed on the scoreboard.
Kisvárda's third timeout didn't bring the breakthrough for the guests either, after Nick's hit, the advantage was already six goals, and since there were only ten minutes left in the match, the fate of the points seemed to be decided (23-17). Of course, the Bakó team didn't give up either, but despite the fact that their offensive play improved in the last minutes, our handball players kept their advantage, and in the end they kept the points home as well with a 29-23 victory.
