Nice victory in Budaörs
A confident win in Budaörs, the bad away form is broken!
We were hosted by the newly promoted Budaörs in the second round of K&H League. After the success against Szombathely, we re-entered the field in the hope of victory. However, the task ahead of us did seem to be easy, because the hosts beat MTK by a big surprise in the first round, so our handball players could expect a highly motivated opponent.
The start was encouraging for us, because after a quick goal change in the first minute, we managed to score two goals through Mrmolja and Bulath, and since our team played better and more accurately, we were even able to increase its advantage. The hosts had to call a timeout in the 11th minute (3-7). Unfortunately, the short break and Suskova's suspension broke our momentum, the home team scored three goals in a row, so Attila Vágó invited his players to the sideline in the 15th minute (6-7). Kazai, Bulath, Weisheitel and Fodor scored in attack and since the defense also worked well, Daniel Buday could not wait with his second timeout, while 7-12 stayed on the scoreboard. However, this did not help the Budaörs either, because Kohász hit the net in a row an gained a 16-9 lead for the 25th minute. Although the opponent could get closer our handball players could still expect the second half from seemingly certain 11-17 position.
After switching sides, Kohász started stronger again, increasing their lead with Bartulovic's saves and with strikes from Mrmolja and Szalai, but the home team didn't want to give up the fight and managed to keep their six-seven-goal disadvantage until the 37th minute (14-20). However, the Vágó team did not let their opponents even more, they were even able to raise the number of hits, and while Bartulovic showed some excellent stops, we scored four times in a row on the other side. The match was practically decided by the 42nd minute (14- 24). The narrow twenty minutes left from the game meeting brought a rather inaccurate game. Which we could not do last season, DKKA finally managed to do in their first away trip in the current one; they brought home two league points as a visitor.
