„ACÉL A SZÍV!”
Important away victory
Leading almost all the way through, the adult team of the Dunaújvárosi Kohász Handball Academy achieved a 33-28 success in the league match against Szombathely.
Abroad, with a meeting against Szombathely our team continued the championship fights. Although based on the ranking of the two teams, ours was the most likely to win, yet a very difficult clash awaited the team of Attila Vágó.
They threw themselves into the battle with much determination and although the first hit of the match was scored by the hosts, after Bartulović's saves and the goals of Bulath, Kazai and Borgyos, we were already happy to lead 3-1. The hosts tried to keep up with our handball players, but despite equalizing several times, there was always someone at Kohász who took the lead back for our team. After Farkas' double, our handball players led again in the 19th minute (5-7). Approaching the end of the half, our team was able to be even more accurate their offensive game, and since the defense worked well, the hosts had to call a timeout at 7-11. However, this did not help the the hosts either, because DKKA played better than their opponent. The teams could march to the halftime while 11-16 stayed on the scoreboard.
It was expected that the Szombathely team would start with an even bigger determination after switching sides, although our opponent got closer after four minutes of play, but after the hits of Bulath and Nick, the difference grew again to five (15-20). Despite another home time-out, the Academists played tactically, increased their lead, after the new goals of Farkas and Weisheitel the fate of the two points seemed to be decided by the 43rd minute (18-25). Of course, Szombathely didn't give up either, but despite being able to get closer to our team, they didn't have a chance toget something out from the match. Our handball players finally won the match smoothly, 33-28. On the positive side, everyone got an opportunity to play from head coach Attila Vágó. Although we remained in ninth place in the table with our success today, our disadvantage is only three points compared to the fifth place, so there is still plenty of chance to move forward.
