„ACÉL A SZÍV!”
Heart of steel they had
The adult ensemble of our academy gained a last second victory against Budaörs in the sports hall tonight after a big comeback from a seven-goal disadvantage.
The adult team of our Academy continued the league with the home match against Budaörs. We could expect a much more difficult match than the two teams' autumn match in September, when we won by 12 goals.
However, the start didn't go as we expected it, It did not take three minutes when Attila Vágó invited his players to the sideline to give them further instructions. The short break didn't bring the desired change either, because despite the fact that Borgyos and Szalai found the net, the guests answered and even led to 7-3 in the 10th minute. Budaörs kept their three-four goal advantage until the middle of the game, but after 5-9 our team could improve both their defensive and offensive play. At 10-10 it seemed that a new match was about to start and it seemed we're on the right trail to get the victory. But our moment did not last long, because of some annoying mistakes we commistted the Buday- team took the advantage again and had a 2 goal lead for the second half (11-13).
A big changewould have been necessary for the secont 30 minutes. But once again we started the half deconcentrated, so not only we could not get closer to the opponent, but the difference even increased, for the 39th minute Budaörs led again by four hits (15-19). In vain did Attila Vágó call a timeout in the 40th and 46th minutes, our handball players played with a lot of mistakes. Although the guests were far from perfect either, they were still able to increase their advantage; the scoreboard showed 19-26 in the 53rd minute.
Then something changed, goals of Szalai, Krupják-Molnár and Farkas gave hope to the home supporters, then after the goals of Farkas and Kukucska we were down only by two goals, but there were only two minutes left from the match (24-26). Budaörs got completely insecure, while the Kohász was on fire, Krupják-Molnár reduced the disadvantage to a minimum, then Bulath arched from the halfway into the empty goal a minute before the end of the match, Our handball players successfully prevented the last attack of the guests with a great defense, and although they only had fifteen seconds left from the clock to win it, Borgyos' went for it and gained a 7m shot, which was converted to a goal by Bulath. Thanks to the ability to fight and our huge last minutes Kohász did what seemed impossible for fifty minutes, and it ended with a dance of joy for them; our players showed their heart of steel!
Thanks to the success, DKKA climbed up to the seventh place in the league table.
