Defeat in Vác
Our team had a huge disatvantage already before the break, and although fought hard in the second one, they were unable to catch up with the home team.
Our adult team continued the league fights at the home of Vác from six o'clock tonight. The odds were in the favour of the home side, but ours were confident that they would be able to get a point or even points from their opponents, with the attitude that they showed in the last minutes against Budaörs.
There wasn't really any problem with the start, but after 2-2 our handball players got insecure in the attack, supporters got sad due to the missed chances and a 7-meter-shot. These mistakes were relentlessly used by the Vác team, so Attila Vágo had an early timeout call in the 11th minute (7-3). After the short break, they managed to halve the disadvantage with the goals of Farkas and Szalai, but the hosts also had an answer, so the difference grew to four again (9-5). In the continuation, both ours and the red-blues had their moments so two and four goals separated the teams until 13-11, when our team got into a bad period, missed their attacks in a row, the hosts had an 8-2 run and were leading 21-13 at halftime.
After switching sides, ours should have improved in all aspects of the game to catch up. Again, they had a brilliant start, they came up 21-16 with a 3-0 series. Over time, however, Vác also organized their lines, and although we managed to keep the five-goal difference until the 40th minute, the host got away again (27-20). Our handball players did not give up the fight either again, they reduced the difference between the two guards again, but unfortunately they did not manage to get closer than five goals to their opponent.
