„ACÉL A SZÍV!”
We're into the Final4!
With an awesome second half performance our team won in Békéscsaba and are among the best 4 teams of the Hungarian Cup.
The adult team of our academy entered the quarterfinals of the Hungarian Cup in Békéscsaba, which team leads the Eastern Group of the secondary league (NB I/B) with quite a large advantage.. Although ours had the odds, we expected no easy match against the hosts, who had nothing to lose in this contest.
They made it clear as they started the game much better, they were leading, and we arleady lost our keeper, Bartulović (who got shot in the head) and Polics who has been slaughtered by one of the defenders of the hosts in the beginning. We could not get closer so Attila Vágo called a timeout in the 17th minute (9-6). Once again we managed to equalize, but they also found another shift in the gauge, so they could keep their advantage until the break (13-12).
The opponent were leading until the 36th minute, when another 3-0 run helped our team to finally turn the tides (16-17). Teams were neck in neck this time then again we could step away frrom our opponent thanks to the hits of Szalai and Nick (19-21). The home timeout call did not help, the hosts got tired at the end, Szalai and Farkas had a fantastic day they contributed a lot to the teams performance. The outcome of the match was decided only around 3-4 minutes before the game when Nick scored (20-26).
We got into the final four of the Hungarian Cup which will take place on 28 - 29th May. The venue has not been defined yet. The is expected to be held next Monday by the Hungarian Handball Association (MKSZ).
