„ACÉL A SZÍV!”
Nice 10 minutes at the end - in vain
Our first team was defeated today in the capital.
After the home victory against Érd, the adult team of our academy continued the league fights against MTK Budapest from four o'clock this afternoon. The two guards fought already two close matches with each other this season. Head coach Attila Vágó expected the same again, but he of course hoped that at the end of the close battle ours could get the upper hand once again.
The match also started as it could be guessed, the parties started efficienty, since neither of the defenses had true strength this time, the teams took turns to score their goals, In the 17th minute the scoreboard showed 9-9 already. Then came a small ups and downs in our offensive game, and since the hosts smashed thrugh the wall of defense of Dunaújváros with their shots several times in the 23rd minute the host got away by 5 goals (15-11). The situation of ours did not improve much in the final minutes of the half, in spite of the goals of Farkas, Nick and Bulath, MTK kept their focus and were able to march to the dressing room with a 19-15 advantage.
After switching sides, DKKA had to improve mainly in the defense in order to return to the match, but the hosts did not give ours a great chance to catch up, in the 37th minute the blue-and-white team led already by 24-17. MTK Budapest kept their six-seven-goal advantage until the 50th minute, and although our team did everything in the final stage of the game to save the points, they only managed to get closer to the home team, the equalization did not come together. The oppoonent finally kept the ponts at home with their 32-30 success.
