„ACÉL A SZÍV!”
The goal is to achieve long-term stability
Our adult team started preparing for the 2022/23 season at the beginning of the week, on the occasion of this, our management held a press conference where several changes affecting the association were discussed.
As it is known, the appointment of our former managing director, Csaba Vertig, expired on June 30, 2022, and he decided to resign from this position. From the 1st July Tibor Horváth has been appointed as executive director of the Academy, while Csaba Vertig continues to work for the association as an operational director. Together with Anita Bulath, professional director, they will coordinate the work at the Kohász Handball Academy in Dunaújváros. In his opening speech, Tibor Horváth thanked the municipality of the city for the help they provided in the last two or three months, which was important for the club to obtain the license for the next season.
The incoming players were already introduced at the end of the previous season, and the close professional relationship with the DVSC team was also discussed. In the spirit of this, in addition to Panna Borgyos, Rebeka Arany and Luca Poczetnyik, we can welcome another youth coming from Debrecen to our Academy. The newcomer, Petra Lakatos will train with the adult team. While Csenge Kiss, who was introduced to adults last year at the DKKA, took the opposite path, and thanks to the collaboration, she was transferred to the DVSC Academy.
However, changes did not only take place in the player squad, but also in the professional staff. Our team terminated the contract with Attila Vágó by mutual agreement. Our academy would also like to thank them for their dedicated work over the past two seasons, and of course we wish Attila every success for the future. Professional management of our adult team will be handled by Tamás Rapatyi head coach, with whom we signed a 2+1-year contract, and Zsolt Perger will be responsible for the duties of goalkeeper coach in the 2022/23 season. To DKKA fans the two professional surely do not need to be introduced, since Tamás Rapatyi took on coaching duties already when DKKA was founded, he joins us from Veszprém, while we can also welcome a returning colleague in the person of Zsolt Perger, who spent the last two seasons with the NEKA team. As a fitness coach, Tibor Horváth continues to work with the adult team as a "second job", so to speak, but masseur of our team, Lajos Sipos also remains in the association. Tamás Rapatyi's professional work will be assisted by Szabolcs Törő in the future.
István Kovács, youth professional director and coach of the youth team, is leaving our club, having received an irresistible offer from abroad. Although replacing him is not an easy task, our manager emphasized that negotiations are progressing well and we will soon be able to announce the new specialist. A good professional standard is also necessary because, as mentioned, Dunaújváros is one of the few youth-development centers where, in the past year, they were not only able to maintain the previous level, but they also managed to increase the number of youth players with several talented pupils.
At the press conference, it was revealed that our team will play in Erima's equipment next season thanks to TTSport. Árpád Tihanyi, the managing director of Bosu-Hungary Kft., which operates TTSport.hu, was also present among the invited guests He expressed that they are honored by the opportunity to cooperate with DKKA, and that they consider it important to say that this agreement is more than a simple sale, both parties aim is to help the other in sports. Our operational director, Csaba Vertig, emphasized that he will soon be able to announce the arrival of a new main sponsor, thanks to which the Academy's operation will be placed on a stable foundation. Regarding the sports hall issue, for now we can only hope that the case will come to an end and that the renovation of our "home" can be realized in some form. In order to do this, not only the club, but also the city is working hard.
Regarding the preparations ahead, Tamás Rapatyi said that our association will definitely play six matches during the month ahead, and one more match is under negotiation. On August 4th and 5th, we will play against ŽRK Podravka Vegeta Koprivnica, but these matches will be held behind closed doors, and then our team will travel to Croatia for a short training camp. Later on, a home match against MTK and an away match against KC Mosonmagyaróvár are also part of the program.
Regarding the setting of the championship goals, Tibor Horváth, managing director, said that he would definitely like to wait until the end of the preparations to determine the specific position that the team aims, however, based on his personal opinion, DKKA can definitely maintain the level it showed during the last season, but he sees it himself the possibility of progress and is confident that this will also be realised on the handball court. Regarding the academy's adult team, they are thinking about creating a stable concept in the longer term, the results of which they see as tangible within 2-3 years. This may involve the formulation of more serious goals, as well as a return to the international cup contests. The concept places great emphasis on the local patriotic attitude. The current changes were made by the management with this in mind. Dunaújváros, as a sports city, has countless professionals and athletes who achieved serious results here, of whom we can be justly proud, but life called them to other places.
Last but not least, another good news for our fans is that the sales of season tickets for the 2022/23 season for the next season will start soon.
