„ACÉL A SZÍV!”
Victory before the long break
With good defense and an improving offensive game, our academy's adult team got a well-deserved 26-22 result against Budaörs tonight.
A difficult battle awaited the academy's adult team, which hosted the team of Budaörs that got a remargable result against DVSC in the last round.. Before the match, our honorary citizen, the journalist of the local newspaper, Árpád Jankó, was greeted by the management of our team on the occasion of his 80th birthday. After a touching few minutes, the match began, where the Red Alert fans, who also gave a birthday present in the person of Viktor Kiss, created a great atmosphere from the first minute to the last.
In the first minutes, however, the visitors had more reason to be happy, as they started the game a bit hesitant, and this was mainly evident in the attacks. Budaörs took advantage of the home scorelessness, and in the 8th minute they led by three goals, and although the DKKA goals started to come, at the beginning of the 14th minute the scoreboard still showed a 5-8 away lead. However, after a slow start, the attacking play of our team started to come together, and as the defence finally worked well this time, Farkas, Szalai and Kazai finally managed to equalise (8-8), and in the exciting final period, Poczetnyik's goal finally gave Kohász the lead (10-9).
Still, the second half promised plenty of excitement, but our handball players wanted to avoid that, so they started the second half with great concentration and efficiency, and thanks to hits from Borgyos, Nick and Fodor they were 15-11 ahead of their rivals. Despite Dániel Buday's timeout, our academy players continued to play more accurately and better than its opponent, and in the 43rd minute the home crowd could already enjoy a six-goal lead (19-13).
Although the game was not over yet, of course, Budaörs tried their best, but they struggled finding the way through the tough home defence, so our handball players confidently maintained their lead. Our young right wing Alexandra Agócs, only 16 years old, made an excellent contribution to the game, scoring 3 goals from 3 shots in the last quarter of the match. In the end, the fans who attended in a great atmosphere saw a well-deserved 26-22 victory, which allowed our team to keep the very important league points at home and move up to fifth place in the table.
