„ACÉL A SZÍV!”
No offense, actually
Unfortunately, our adult team could not break its bad streak.
Our academy's adult team continued their league fights from five o'clock this afternoon finally with a home clash against Alba FKC. Ours could not count on Panna Borgyos who injured her elbow during midweek’s cup match, despite this, the goal could still not be other than to get the two league points.
It was already visible at the opening whistle, as our handball players were extremely determined to go into the match and quickly took the lead through Szalai. The Fehérvár team quickly responded to this, and although Arany was also among the scorers, ours made several mistakes in the sequel, so the visitors first equalized, then also took the lead, and when they scored their third goal in a row. Tamás Rapatyi responded with a timeot in the 11th minute (2-4).
Krupják-Molnár broke the ten-minute goal silence of our team, but even though Horváth also scored, the visitors held their two-goal lead and Alba already had a 7-4 lead in the 21st minute. It was primarily the execution and finishing of the attacking plays that caused us great trouble. The opponent took advantage of this and got ahead by five goals (7-12). Fortunately, Farkas, Poczetnik and Nick also scored in the final few minutes, so we managed to reduce our deficit to three (10-13) when we went for the break.
Our team had to improve in attacks very much, and with that in mind we started with two goals, but unfortunately failed to equalise (12-13). As in the first act, the momentum did not last long in the second one either, the visitors again got away by three hits and when they their twentieth goal in the 44th minute, no other options we had than to call another timeout. (15-20). Our team should have opened up a big chase for the final part of the game, and although we missed a penalty throw, after hits from Horvath and Nick, it was time for the guests to call a timeout. (17-20).
The short break broke our momentum a bit, but with hard work, goals from Farkas and Poczetnik, we managed to come back once again 19-21, and with five minutes remaining, there was plenty of excitement in the final chase, especially as after another save by Oguntoye, Kazai minimized the gap between the two guards (20-21). Unfortunately, FKC also found the net, with Varga's goal they increased their lead, and since ours had both failed their last three attacks, the team of Székesfehérvár took the two points from Dunaújváros with a 22-20 success.
