„ACÉL A SZÍV!”
DKKA is in the 3rd round of EHF Cup
Unfortunately the adult team of Kohész lost by two goals in Romania, still considering both matches our qualification to the next round was not in danger.
The second leg of the second round in EHF Cup we played against CSM Roman today. In the first match we gained a comfortable victory of seven goals, however our aim was not just to defend the lead but to win in Roman. Unfortunately Anita Kazai suffered an anle injury still on Saturday, so this time she could not contribute to the teams performance.
After a fairly good start we showed to the opponent, that our intentions are serious, we came for a win (2-3). The home team find it hard to beat our defence and we managed to get easier goals after some of their mistakes. The score was 6-4 when the first bad period came for our side, and Roman managed not just to equalize, but soon they got a two goal lead. László György took his time-out to reinforce the team. This had an impact on our game and thanks to Camila Micijevic we turned to the last 10 minutes of the half with a draw (9-9). Although the Romanian side had the lead throughout the rest of this time period, Klujber, Szekerczés and Molnár managed to keep our team close. At the half the score was 13-13.
In the second part of ther game CSM Roman kept up their open defensive tactics that has caused some troubles for us. Our head coach knew what to do and thanks to the goal of Fruzsina Bouti we had the lead again at 15-16. It was followed by another bad run as our team got two suspensions and missed several scoring opportunities from both sides. At 20-19 again a time-out seemed necessary. The tides were turning again as once again we got back the lead thanks to some nice scores from Bouti, Takács and to Micijevic, who hit her sixth goal into the net (21-22).
This was the final time for us ahead of the opponent, as when it was sure that our girls cannot lose by more than seven goals, the concentration eased up and the home team got a two goals lead. After the goal of Szekerczés it turned out that CSM Roman had to win by eight to qualify themselves to the next round. It seemed impossible and it was indeed. With the final score of 27-25 DKKA ensured its place in the third round of EHF Cup.
