„ACÉL A SZÍV!”
A very close defeat
It was an open game until the end, but Érd managed to win in the last minute and kept both points home.
We travelled to an away match this time to Érd who is 3rd on the league table. The girls could play without any burdens as although Kohász is right beside its opponent in the league, yet it is safe to say, that the odds were on the side of the hosts. Since both sides had some injured players we hoped that with some discipline in attack we could stop them and finally get a win against our bogey.
The girls started the match nervously, in the first six minutes they failed to hit the net at all. Although Érd could not break our wall of defense either, with two fast breaks and a penalty they already had a three goal lead (3-0). Micijevic could break the ice and a few seconds later Klujber scored. Basically throughout the game we can clearly state that the hosts always had their answers for our comebacks. So it was already in the beginning (6-4).
In the middle of the period Érd managed to get away by three again, but Kazai brought Kohász closer with her two goals. DKKA could attack to level the game. László György was aware that it might be a key moment so he called a timeout. Unfortunately the break did not help, on contrary Érd were merciless after the mistakes that we committed in attack. In the 22nd minute the difference grew to five goals (13-8). Camila Micijevic was again who broke our goalless period and thanks to the fact that the girls were brilliant in defending at this stage, during six minutes we managed to come back again (13-12). Yet again Érd had their answer, Signate and Krpez scored some easy goals. 15-13 stood in the scoreboard at halftime.
After the teams changed sides, the supporters agreed that Kohász would needed to get back into defense quicker and more effectively, because Érd could score a some important goals after their quick attacks. The home side also started the second half much better than our teams. During the first four minutes they were leading by four, and some errors in attack, they did not hesitate to do further fast breaks, it was a 4-1 run for Érd (19-14). László György changed the tactics in defense yet again that confused the hosts Micijevic (twice), Kazai, and Dombi scored and in the 41st minute at 20-19 Edina Szabó, coach of the opponent needed to call a timeout. Kohász defended another attack, and two minutes later Dombi equalized. Yet we failed to gain the lead, as Érd had their answer again (23-21).
Another unsuccessful comeback somehow stopped the eagerness and we could not renew our attacking play. Luckily the defending still worked so Érd got away only with three goals. Babett Szalai got also injured, that did not help our case. Even so DKKA did not break, Kazai and Molnár brought Kohász closer once again (27-26). Edina Szabó called another timeout, but right after Molnár got another brilliant goal with which she levelled the game for the final minute. A quick, but by no chance surprising answer from Érd meant that Kohász had time to attack to get at least a point, but they did not manage to hit the net. This meant that the clash was won 28-27 by the home side, and they strengthened their 3rd position on the league table. DKKA remained 4th.
