„ACÉL A SZÍV!”
Siófok won their home match
Our team kind of collapsed in the second half and a goalless 16 minute period reulted a big defeat from one of the strongest teams in the league
Our away opponent was Siófok this time which team has mostly just quality international players in their squad. György László told before the match that DKKA's only chance is to have a flawless game against a much stronger team to get some results.
But this was not the case unfortunately. Although we started the game with a goal from Dombi, but Siófok scored three in a row. Besides their defending also Solberg was excellent at the goal a caused lot of trouble for our players to get the ball in her net. Szekerczés and Nick got early suspensions as well that did not help out case. In the 12th minute Kohász was down by four goals already (7-3). Szekerczés got her second two-minute-warning, while Kobetic started to score goals too on the opposite side. Although the home lead was 10-4, the Kohász players did not give it up and thanks to some mistakes from the hosts, Szekerczés, Grosch, and Szalai halved our disadvantage (11-8). Although we had the opportunity to decrease the difference between the teams, Kohász could not get closer, the first 30 minutes ended with a score of 14-10.
After the teams switched sides we got the first goal of the half once again thanks to Szekerczés, but annoying mistakes came along both in attack and in defending from DKKA. Siófok used these mistakes well, they scored four goals between the 33rd and 39th minute and got away from us (20-13). After the timeout from György László we quickly scored two, but Siófok had a nice counter as they scored four again. Solberg was cracking in the goal (24-15). Our coach invited theirs to the sideline one final time, but this did not help either. In attack nothing worked against the strong defending and the excellent goalkeeper of the home team. 28-15 stood on the scoreboard five minutes before the final whistle. The goalless period lasting for 15 (!) minutes was broken by Luca Szekerczés, but this did not mean much as Siófok gained an easy victory. Our team remained in the ninth position on the league table.
